The story behind Ancaster Cabinets
After many years in the construction/woodworking industry, I decided to concentrate on my love of woodworking. I found a small shop and after some time I was fulfilling my dream, woodworking and making cabinets. I found peace and fulfilment creating pieces of beauty. Soon after, I was contracted to make a few vanities. It did not take long for the word to get out and I was taking orders for weeks ahead. I was approached by one of the contractors who had installed one of my vanities to make a kitchen. Wow, the ultimate compliment! I wasted no time and made and installed the kitchen with great pride What a beauty! I knew then and there, that was a new chapter and began Ancaster cabinets.
As a young child growing up in England, I would help my Father with home renovations, he had many talents, painting, hanging wall paper and building furniture. This laid the ground work for my passion, woodworking and renovations. After holding down various positions with construction companies, I invariably hit the jackpot. While renovating an almost 200 year old home to become a future hotel, I had the pleasure of meeting an elderly Italian craftsman. And so, my dream came true after being mentored by this special gentleman I knew that this was what I wanted to do forever.
The opportunity arose to move from England to Canada, some 18 years ago and I jumped at the opportunity . Continuing with renovations for years I have been very fortunate to transition to making handcrafted cabinets and furniture.
